#03DLX SIRIUSMO - THE PLASTERER OF LOVE - DELUXE EDITION
A“Where is no love, it needs to be created artificially. That's for the plasterer of love to do. And he builds and builds, squeezes and tortures, slices, shapes, destroys and rebuilds, but he can never quite get it right. A strange sight. Agitated moves, his body in awkward positions, his face frozen, a grotesque mask. One wants to say to him: “Leave it man! It's gonna be okay.” or “Take your time and think about it again. You can't force it anyway!” But the plasterer of love is not listening: "No no no! I have to do it! I have to get it right. That's my job, my duty, I'm the plasterer of love!”
Boys Noize "Einmal in der Woche schreien" is one of my favourite summer tunes! #02 MODESELEKTOR - ART & CASH / DVD
Facing crisis and tormented by the sorrows of monetary depletion there was only one solution for the House of Modeselektor. All capital must go! And fast! Property funds crashing like Windows 2000, investing in gold too 80s and the rights to Jacko's portfolio too expensive. Only one answer remained: Art. Versed on the international art trade floor it was easy for the Modeselektor Boys to win over two sought-after art dealers; to seal the deal and to go on a shopping spree. "Art & Cash" is the shocking "behind the scenes" documentary of that German art campaign. In the process a scandal was revealed that is shaking experts to this day. For years and under the watchful eyes of millions did the "Fantastic Nobodies" - exceptionally gifted art counterfeiters and weirdos from Brooklyn - manage to sell themselves as renowned works of art, thus creating inexplicable damage...

Modeselektor's buddy Siriusmo personally invited himself to be the very first artist on Monkeytown Records and will be No. 01 of the still virginal label catalogue.
Primarily, Siriusmo aka Moritz Friedrich is a real survivalist, played in a band for many years and is a fan of old keyboards. As a professional artist (painting, illustration, graffiti) Siriusmo lives off temporary jobs and even does construction work now and then. Just on extremely rare occastions can Moritz be seen on stage (children's birthday parties or other family get-togethers) - and even then his mood is rather shitty due to his bad taking of criticism.
His self therapeutical way of life shows a new side with "the uninvited guest". Sometimes bold, sometimes heartsick, melodies that creep under your skin, serious drama, touching melancholy that collapses into absurdism and which makes fun of itself. Technical devices and a lot of phantasy artistically cover up lacking musical abilities. Moritz Friedrich already had quite a lot releases on respective labels. His one and only comment on those releases: " On each record there is one song that I still like, the rest - unfortunately - is shit."
Well, this is it for now. Or maybe there is still to mention that there will be two EPs by Siriusmo with a following (debut) album at the end of 2009, all on Monkeytown Records.
